Bombay Jam® incorporates cardio and toning routines into one action packed total body workout, and routines are set to custom music mixes created by Bombay's hottest DJs. The music is a blend of Bollywood and mainstream Top 40 tracks, resulting in one-of-a-kind mixes that are refreshing, energizing and universally appealing. The cardio routines incorporate basic, easy to follow dance fitness moves full of Bollywood flare, and the toning segment focuses on sculpting long, lean muscle. In just an hour-long class, you can burn hundreds of calories!
Divya is an AFAA certified Group X instructor. She also holds a certifications for Bombay Jam® through Mona Khan Company.
She's been teaching various fitness classes around the Bay Area since 2007. Divya started with Bollywood Cardio at India Community Center, and grew into other classes such as Naachercise and Bombay Jam®. Some of these classes are now being offered all over the Bay Area.
Her Fitness Philosophy: Mind over matter with a smile!
Divya believes that dance and fitness go hand in hand and there is no reason why fitness cannot be fun...it is a natural high for her! She has always been attracted to different forms of fitness but never found one that came as naturally to her, which ingeniously combines two of her favorite activities— dance andfitness - into one class. As soon as the music starts to play, she is transported to a completely different world. It allows her to express herself, have fun and get fit... all at the same time. Every class feels like it's one big party!
As an instructor she believes in making a positive difference, and finds it immensely rewarding to see her students excited about coming to class and having them see results. "Having my students leave class with a smile on their face also spreads joy to others in their lives...a beautiful thing!"
